Domestic Waste Management
– Paper waste, including cardboard boxes
– Soil (dry)
– Wood Waste – small amounts of wood scrap can be placed in the mini skip and collected with other light items. Note: The driver will not unload this type of rubbish into your garden or driveway unless you have a licence from the local authority to do so
– Garden Waste – small amounts of branches, leaves and grass can be placed in the mini skip. These should be tied up with string or old rope to stop them blowing away during transit. Note: The driver will not unload this type of rubbish into your garden or driveway unless you have a licence from the local authority to do so
– Building Waste – this can be loaded into a midi or maxi skip. It is advisable to have the waste removed by a professional company if you are not confident with handling such combustible items as wood, plasterboard and other drywall material
– Garden Waste – this can be loaded into a mini, midi or maxi skip. When it’s not possible to load the garden waste onto our lorry there is an option of us collecting and disposing of it on your behalf. This service incurs an additional charge.
– Furniture and other bulky items – these are best disposed of using our builders skips service as they have tarpaulin to ensure that the waste is protected from bad weather and rain during transit
– Concrete or stone – these items are the responsibility of the customer and can be loaded into a builder’s skip.
– Motorcycle, car or other vehicle parts – these large items should be disposed using our Roll on/Roll off service where there is no requirement to wait for tarpaulin protection
– Tiles or roofing tiles – we have a range of mini skips that are designed to help customers dispose of these items safely
– Dry mixed recycling – this can be disposed of using our builders skip service as it is very manageable.
Other types of wastes and appropriate skips to be used are as follows:
– Plasterboard – maxi skips are the appropriate size and should be used.
– Soil / earth for landscaping or gardening
– builders skip service is required as it can’t go into a mini or midi skip.
– Alfresco burner ash and ashes from coal, wood etcetera (including coal/wood fireplaces) – a maxi skip is appropriate.

The following items are generally forbidden from being put in a skip:

Gas cylinders (empty or full). Any empty aerosols containers including spray cans and hairspray bottles
Any material that is likely to spontaneously combust; such as rubber tyres

No mixed waste – we are not able to recycle your mix of paper and plastic for example
Any liquid industrial wastes including oils lubricants such as engine oil products which will leave a residue on our equipment if disposed of in skips (due to it being very difficult to remove without specialist equipment)
Nail varnish remover is an exception when it has been diluted with water so that the proportion is 25% by volume of water. You must have obtained written confirmation from us before disposing any chemical substances containing solvents into our skips
We are not able to accept any hazardous wastes including asbestos, fluids of the type used in car batteries.
Please contact us before you hire a skip for your property or work site and we can advise what size would be best suited to your requirements
